Janet Concert
I went to see Janet Jackson at the Verizon Center on Wednesday night. I’m such a huge fan of hers and this is my first Janet concert! My friend Kathy went to one of her previous concerts and said she wasn’t as nimble. I’m just glad she didn’t cancel on us. She rocks! I had so much fun with Kathy, Liz, and Lavender.

Tornay-do, Tornah-do
What is going on with the weather! Tornados were spotted in multiple areas yesterday, mostly in Virginia. I read on MSNBC local news that one was spotted near White Oak, which is right down the street from my work. A person was injured and one died from fallen trees. Scary stuff. Signals were out this morning on my commute to work but now they’re working, thankfully.
Glad to see the weather has calmed down today but now I’m bracing for 90+ degree weather in the next few days. I think I’ll either stay in or by the pool all weekend. Sweating makes me cranky.
Summer ‘08 Has Officially Begun
I had an enjoyable long weekend spending time with friends and family. A good start to what I hope will be a relaxing and fun summer! The festivities began with Francis’ birthday mini-party on Thursday. We ate dinner at Lia’s and then just hung out at home. I got him a carrot cake from Cake Love in Silver Spring. It was good but overpriced, especially for a 6″ size. I think I’ll just stick with the cupcakes if I ever go there again.

Friday and Saturday we hung out with friends in Grosvenor and Cleveland Park, respectively. Sunday morning we headed to Pennsylvania for a BBQ with the fam. We went to a place called Laurel Lake in the Pine Grove area. I remember looking at photos of me being there when I was a little kid. It was beautiful out there and the weather was wonderful. There’s also a mountain spring and the water is so clean. My mom regularly comes up there and takes home jugs and jugs of water.

The food was delish! Francis’ mom also had some galbi ribs marinated but we never got to it unfortunately. There was enough food to feed an army. Later that night we met up with my hometown friends. Fun times as always! Just a little tired and bloated from all that meat-eating and drinking. Sunday we ate some more and then headed back home.
Today I got my pool pass! The management office finally got smart and put each person’s photo on it. Harder to reproduce if you know what I mean ^_~. I think tomorrow I’m going to go browse for bicycles. Time to work on my fitness after two years of sitting on my arse day and night. Maybe I should become one of those people who wake up at 5 am to work out. Hmm…we’ll see. ‘Go big or go home’ right? I think I’ve heard that phrase 100 times in the last month or so and now I’m brainwashed.
SEX AND THE CITY opens Friday! Woot!
District of Caron

The Wizards game last Thursday was amazing. It was my second Wizards game ever. The first one was back when Michael Jordan was on the Wizards, ages ago. I was so far back that he was 3″ tall. This time I had floor seats and LeBron James was in front of my face! His head is smaller in person and he kept chewing on his fingernails like he always does. Other notables we saw were Eric Snow, Big Ben Wallace, and Colin Powell. Soulja Boy was there too. Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins and Kevin Durant were also in the “Phone Booth“ but I didn’t see them. I think we’ll make our way back if they make it to round 2, but they have something like a 4% chance of winning 3 in a row.

Cavaliers vs. Wizards – Game 3
I’m going to the game tonight! It starts at 8pm and it’ll be televised on TNT. Look for me somewhere behind the Cavs’ bench!
Go Wizards!
